Ever since seeing a cherry red X1/9 in my Craigslist browsing, I've wanted one quite a lot. This latest feature from Petrolicious is only making things worse.

Petrolicious has, without fail, made me want everything they've profiled.

I've had the pleasure of working on one. Rusted out, ant infested, and no keys, but still awesome.

My dad bough one brand new and had it until I was really little ('78 5-speed 1500cc I think), and later on one of his mates had 3 of them.
when I was 16 I got to drive one of his red ones with a leaky roof, missing dash and no working heater -3 degrees and hailing.. while wearing work boots that were too big to easily manage the pedals. God it was an awful experience, but I loved the car. I'd buy one now but I don't think I could justify having the MR2 and it.

I decided my next project car will be an X1/9 with a cheap Honda G23 (srsly fuck vtec) which blows any other 4cyl Honda sound out of the water AND ITS MY IDEA FIRST YOU CAN'T DO IT!

if you already have an mr2 then this should be an easy decision. Its the correct type of car - 2 seater, motor in the middle, RWD. This is next on my list, I had a boxster and have a 2 currently. I'm running low on options for next cars (that are affordable at least)

it's not really a decision though, just wanting what I can't have ;)

This is accurate, yeah. Speedhunters helps to fuel my desire to ravage all of my cars and make them stupid fast, too. I feel like Dr. Frankenstein reading their stuff, haha. IT'S ALIVE.

Well it's still sitting under a tarp at my friend's house. Yeah, haven't been able to do anything about it in a while

I don't think I've seen any with the striping, whether it wasn't an option for the Australian ones or if people remove them I'll never know.
There's about 3 I see on a regular basis, a really run down orange-red one, a nice red one, and I see a yellow Dallara
-ish
widebody every week. A guy near my work owns it and I've yet to corner him and talk to him about it.
